What did your Adventure In Missions mean to you?

"The trip to Honduras changed my life. God led the whole process from the initial conversation with the team lead, to raising more money than I asked for, meeting wonderful team members and locals, and staying on a few extra days on my own to explore more. I've been on a few short-term international missions trips, and this one has by far left the strongest imprint on my heart. I can't wait to go back and bring others with me."

~Stephanie, teacher, California

Evangelism PDF Print E-mail

The Bible contains more than 300 verses on the poor, social justice, and God's deep concern for both. The message in those 300 verses is really very simple: help the needy. And the message is continuous. It's in the Torah; it's in the Prophets and Psalms; it's in the Gospels; it's in the Epistles. How many churches emphasize serving the poor as much as the Bible itself does? Would the world look the way it does if all believers followed these commands?

Education Projects PDF Print E-mail

On the world's list of priorities literacy is very low. Less than 3 per cent of official development assistance is spent on education, with just a fraction of that going to literacy programs. While it would cost just $7 billion to teach every person to read and write the U.S. and Europe alone spend upwards of $18 billion every year on makeup products.

Clinics PDF Print E-mail

The state of medical care in developing countries is a global concern. Many nations are in dire need of qualified medical personnel. People often die of illnesses that can be easily prevented or treated. If those who are sick and suffering can reach a health care facility, they are often faced with overworked doctors, broken equipment, and a lack of medical supplies and resources.

The world is experiencing a global housing crisis. Nearly 2 billion people around the world live in slum housing and over 100 million are homeless. Families are trapped in a daily struggle to survive amid substandard and often inhuman living conditions.

Water & Sanitation Projects PDF Print E-mail

Water is fundamental to survival. Go without it for a short time, and we would die. The water and sanitation crisis does not grab headlines, but far more people suffer from it than from the issues that do. But clean, safe drinking water is not available to over 1.2 billion people (28 percent of the world population).

As we begin the 21st century 1.2 billion people live in abject poverty, most of them women. More than 800 million people go to bed hungry and 50,000 people die every day from poverty-related causes. It doesn't have to be this way. Poverty is a silent killer - one that quietly preys on the world’s most marginalized and forgotten people.

Adventure In Missions has made the choice - a choice to act - and we believe that together we can make a difference. We are the first generation with the knowledge and resources to eradicate poverty. Let us refuse to miss the opportunity. Remember that we can make a difference one life at a time.
