What did your Adventure In Missions mean to you?

"The trip to Honduras changed my life. God led the whole process from the initial conversation with the team lead, to raising more money than I asked for, meeting wonderful team members and locals, and staying on a few extra days on my own to explore more. I've been on a few short-term international missions trips, and this one has by far left the strongest imprint on my heart. I can't wait to go back and bring others with me."

The Bible contains more than 300 verses on the poor, social justice, and God's deep concern for both. The message in those 300 verses is really very simple: help the needy. And the message is continuous. It's in the Torah; it's in the Prophets and Psalms; it's in the Gospels; it's in the Epistles. How many churches emphasize serving the poor as much as the Bible itself does? Would the world look the way it does if all believers followed these commands? The people we serve in Honduras suffer from poverty, disease, injustices and even persecution. Because of their sickness and poverty they are unable to work or provide for their families. What reason do they have to hope? Who can save them from the hopeless situation they face? How would their lives change if they knew Jesus?

It is difficult to believe that in our day and age, there are still people groups who have yet to hear about the Good News of Jesus Christ. In fact, an estimated 2.7 billion people around the world have never been presented with the Gospel. That’s 2.7 billion people, nearly two out of every five people, who live each day with no true hope.

We who profess to believe in Him know that He is our one true hope. What about those who have never heard His precious name? Adventure In Missions is committing to sharing the truth of Jesus through our actions and His Word. Whatever ministry we are serving in will always include sharing the Good News and praying for those we come in contact with.
